STIAS is hosting a fourth Wall Colloquium Abroad at its Wallenberg Reseach Centre from 1st to 4th December 2015. The colloquium is arranged within  the framework of an existing Memorandum of Agreement between STIAS and the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies (PWIAS).

This colloquium is organised by Prof. Michelle LeBaron, Peter Wall Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the Faculty of Law, UBC and her colleagues Dr Cynthia Cohen (Brandeis University),  Prof. Kim Berman (University of Johannesburg) and Prof. Kitche Magak (Maseno University), all currently at STIAS for a four week residency. It forms part of a multi-faceted ongoing inquiry into theory and practice at the nexus of the arts and social transformation, providing an African-centered opportunity at STIAS to weave new strands into the rich thinking arising from a series of gatherings, including the 2012 PWIAS international roundtable on resilience, social transformation and the arts, and the smaller 2013 follow-up at PWIAS.
