The organisers of the Stellenbosch Annual Seminar on Constitutionalism in Africa (SASCA) are pleased to announce that the Sixth SASCA event will be held at the STIAS-Wallenberg Research Centre, 10 Marais Straat, Stellenbosch, South Africa, from 4 to 6 September 2018. This seminar is funded through a STIAS grant from the Swedish Riksbankens Jubileumsfond and is also supported by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. The theme for the SASCA 2018 seminar is Democracy, elections and constitutionalism in Africa. This seminar is jointly organised by:

All the papers presented during the seminar will be peer reviewed for publication in the fifth volume of the new series, Stellenbosch Handbooks in African Constitutional Law, to be published by Oxford University Press, Oxford. Participation is by invitation and will include African legal scholars, judges and legal practitioners as well as international scholars who have researched and written on the various expressions of constitutionalism in Africa.
